Air Duct Cleaning
In today's airtight homes indoor air quality is a "growing" concern…
The EPA has identified indoor air pollution as one of the top 5 urgent environmental risks to public health.
American Lung Association website says, "Biological pollutants, including molds, bacteria, viruses, pollen, dust mites, and animal dander promote poor indoor air quality and may be a major cause of days lost from work and school. In office buildings, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems are frequent sources of biological substances that are inhaled, leading to breathing problems."
Pompeii’s Duct Cleaning improves Indoor Air Quality by removing allergens that circulate through your air ducts each time the fan motor turns on, from heated or cooled conditioned air. Over time various contaminants make way through your air duct system. The majority of things we find are. insect remnants, dust, mold, pet and human hair and dander which feed dust mites, garbage thrown in the open holes during construction, air freshener containers, and decaying animal carcasses.

Dirty air ducts have been identified as a major source of indoor air pollution. Your air duct system is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, and other health threatening organisms.
Allergens & contaminants commonly found in the home and office are:

The inside of your duct work is the same as an extra room in your home that's never dusted or vacuumed. When the A/C fan or furnace turns on, dust from the duct work is stirred up and it gets blown into all the rooms of your home. This happens every time your system comes on.
By having your air ducts cleaned you are reducing the allergens available to be spread into the air you breathe that aggravate people with respiratory illnesses. Most people are allergic to dust mite waste and pollen that accumulate. The dust mite feeds on debris found in the duct work. By removing this debris, you are removing one of their food sources. While we cannot make any claims in this department, it would be hard to imagine that removing a large source of allergens could not be beneficial to people with frequent respiratory Illnesses.
Ask to inspect the work upon completion. We can offer pictures of inspection before and after the work is completed. We also offer references of some of our customers to hear for your self what they have to say.
Video inspection is used to look inside of the ducts prior to cleaning to see it's condition. The camera is inserted into the ductwork and the LIVE images appear onscreen.
We use a fogging machine that sends a fine mist through your ducts to control bacteria and fungi. We use Bio-Cide Chemicals. These chemicals have been registered by the EPA for use in HVAC Systems in populated areas. In addition the sanitizer we use is approved by the FDA and USDA to insure you of its efficacy and safety. The solutions are clear, stable, and virtually odorless. Sanitizers reduce, but not eliminate, microbial contaminants.
Facts about air duct cleaning:
- According to the World Health Organization, 60% of allergies and indoor air problems may be mold related.
- IAQ studies showed that 96% of 10,000 homes had IAQ problems.
- Research has shown that air duct cleaning and sanitation improves the quality of indoor air in buildings with contaminated air ducts.
- The American Lung Association (ALA) states that HVAC systems are frequent sources of biological pollutants that promote poor indoor air quality.
- The ALA states that regular and thorough cleaning of places where biological pollutants are likely to grow will keep them at a minimum.
